|
Flipping out over the Flip” is a four week online Blackboard course for teachers who want to explore the uses of the Flip video camera in the classroom. At the beginning of the course there is a two hour face to face meeting where you will receive your Flip video camera and have an introduction to the Flip and its software. Participants should be prepared to devote a minimum of three hours per week to this course. Internet access from home is a requirement for this class. Each week during the Blackboard course you will be required to complete a video assignment using students from your class, visit websites that give ideas on how to use the Flip in the classroom, and read and respond to an educational article featuring video camera use in the classroom. Teachers will learn to upload videos to the Flip software, edit them, create still images from a video, create movie mixes using different themes, upload videos to Teacher Tube (on the web), embed videos to Oncourse, and send video greeting cards. Teachers will receive 12 CLUs. Teachers will have the option to keep the Flip or returning the Flip and taking the 12 Tech Points. Beginning Face-to-Face meeting will be held on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 3:45 p.m. at the T3 Lab at C.M. Fagan. The Blackboard online class ends on November 21, 2010.
